Time With Family

Friday and Saturday we drove Back Home to celebrate my niece's 14th birthday--Happy Birthday Anna Beth! It's unbelievable how quickly my nieces and nephew are growing and changing. For one thing, I think only one of them is still shorter than me (Hi Casey) but that probably won't last much longer :).

We always love a chance to go visit family and my kiddos are thrilled to see their cousins, if the noise level is any indication.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but every time we go Back Home we have to take our basset hound, Annie, with us. She's a good traveler and a well-behaved houseguest (which isn't always true of my children). One thing Annie loooooves about Back Home is walks with Mimi. Now the rest of us take Annie on brief "courtesy" walks when she needs to take care of her business; Mimi takes Annie on treks! I appreciate the way all the grandparents have developed relationships with their "granddog" since she is a fairly frequent houseguest :).

Later Days!

P.S. I love this photo of Mimi walking Annie; E. ran out ahead of all of us and encouraged Annie to sprint. When she runs, her ears stream out behind her (the dog's, not Emily's). lol

Okay, I have to admit it is a great picture. Number 1: E. is smiling (actually I think she is laughing) 2: Annie is showing she can move and seems to be enjoying it 3: You can't see my face. We did enjoy the brief but wonderful visit. Looking forward to the next time. Love, prayers, and much misses, Mimi.

By the way, I think Annie is walking Mimi instead of Mimi walking Annie!! Ha! Ha!!

Mimi, I would've loved to have your smiling face in this photo, too! I believe you were enjoying yourself :).
All4Memories, Sorry we didn't meet up anywhere. We'll have to plan that. These 1 night stays require shuffling ourselves and children back & forth across town several times to see everybody & then when have to dash back here. Maybe we can plan a lunch or breakfast out for next time?
Miekie, You're right--she's an inspiration!

Kelly, I understand. I know you feel so rushed when you're here, especially if it's just overnight. Breakfast or lunch sounds good, or maybe we should just invade Mimi's while you're here. Surely 4 more wouldn't be noticed!!!??? LOL 8)
