Tuesday = Library Day

Once again, all is right with the world...meaning, we made it to the library today. K. checked out American Girl books, N. got President and dinosaur books, E. got cat and dog books.

We're really hoping that E.'s books will reveal a strategy for housebreaking Annie the Dog! She is taken on a couple of walks every day and let outside into our fenced-in yard frequently but still prefers to wet our carpet! Any tips would be appreciated by this frazzled, too-busy-to-clean-up-dog-accidents, mother of 4 (one of whom is not yet "housebroken" himself!).

Later Days!

I think it's just like with kids. You have to be consistent with it. Reward her when she does her business outside. When we had Tasha, we had specific times that we would take her out. Don't know if any of this helps.??

We went to the library today, too, and we got the Hank book about The Measled Cowboy. S. has started reading a Pee Wee Scouts book, and she likes it. C. got some dinosaur books.

(1 day down and 4 more to go!! Yeah!!!)

Going together to the library sounds like a great family tradition that the children will always treasure.
We haven't had puppies for years and years, but I recollect that we put down newspapers to be used as a toilet. As far as I know one is expected to speak sternly to her when she misbehaves - the way the mother dog would growl. Good luck with the house training. I am really no expert when it comes to dogs!
With your other little one, set aside a day when you have nothing else to do, have the potty where you work - not the bathroom. Dress him in loose (too big) pants that he can easily pull down and up himself. Give him lots of salty snacks to make him thirsty and lots of coke to quench the thirst and make him need the potty often... I got these tips from "How to potty train your child in one day" and it worked for mine. Especially the part about not having the potty in the bathroom - who wants to sit there all day?
